Come vs. Go

Come與go的兩個方向不同。Come是往講者的方位,Go是離開講者的方位往對方。

COME is used to show movement toward or in the direction of the speaker or the person being spoken to. It has a similar meaning to the verb “to arrive”.

Sample Sentences:

My mom is coming to see me next week.

Can I come to your house?

Do you want me to come at 8pm?

GO is used to show movement away from the speaker. It has a similar meaning to the verb “to leave”.

Sample Sentences:

We are going to see my mom next week.

I need to go now.

I will go to the office at noon tomorrow.

Lend Vs. Borrow

Lend與Borrow意思都是借,不過方向不同。

LEND is used when someone gives something that is their own to somebody else for a certain period of time (temporarily), but the item will need to be returned. 你暫時的借東西給別人。

Sample Sentences:

Could you lend me your pen?

I will lend you my bike.

The bank is going to lend me NTD50,000 to start my business.

BORROW is used when someone takes something that belongs to somebody else for a certain period of time (temporarily), but they will need to return the item they are taking. 別人暫時借東西給你。

For example:

He likes to borrow money from his girlfriend.

Can I borrow your phone?

I am going to borrow NTD50,000 to start my business.
