Many people take vitamin supplements every day, but there's one supplement your body may not need: Vitamin D. According to The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology journal, intake of vitamin D supplements may not improve bone mineral density in adults. The large meta-analysis, which compiled 81 studies and more than 53,000 subjects, even suggests that medical authorities stop recommending people to take vitamin D supplements to sustain bone health.

But local medical experts have pointed out that people with special cases, such as a light bodyweight or low bone density should still take vitamin D supplements.
