文法跟讀 In-Tense #009: 現在完成進行式 Present Perfect Continuous Tense

Welcome to 15mins.today the home of English Shadowing. I'm your host Gavin and this is InTense episode 9. Hi guys, today we're going to be looking at a very interesting tense, it is called the present perfect continuous if you're English or if you're American the present perfect progressive and it's an interesting little tense, because it is basically a “has” with a “been” and an “ing.” So it's quite interesting that people use it and we use it the same ways we use the actual perfect, present perfect tense. It’s basically for actions that started in the in the past and still continue in the present. So it's basically like the perfect tense.

So if I can do an example of both things, “John has worked in Taiwan for 7 years. John has been working in Taiwan for 7 years.” So you can see both of them mean exactly the same thing, but one is using the perfect, plain perfect, present perfect tense and the other one is using the present perfect continuous. So that is how you use it and if you want to know if it's being used you will always notice it because it's got the, “has been or have been plus the ing.” Great so without further ado let's get cracking with a questions.
