· 文法跟讀單元 In-Tense

Welcome to 15mins.today the home of English Shadowing. I am your host Gavin, and this is InTense Episode 58.

Well guys we're on to the next chapter of our grammar section, and today we are starting with verbs. Now verbs are very important, just like nouns. If you do not have a verb in a sentence, it is not a valid sentence. Okay, so what are verbs? They are words that show what is happening, they show actions or state of being so, run they are very easy. Some are not so easy to spot, but anyway, so every sentence, to be a valid sentence, needs a verb. Now there are three basic types: action verbs, linking verbs, and helping verbs. And we also going to sub divide them into transitive and intransitive verbs. Today we're going to start with the first basic one action verbs, and these are easy: run, eat, write, think. So, there are verbs that show us something we can visibly see like, “I ran from here today.”, you saw the guy running and then they are verbs that you know happen in your head, you can't see it. “I loved the movie.” or “I thought he was beautiful.” Thought is the verb and we can't see it. OK, so today we're going to start with action verbs, and we are just going to start with the basic things again. I will underline the verbs in the transcript, but these will be basic ones and without further ado, let's get cracking.
